Britney Spears has been in the public’s eye since she was 11 when she appeared on ‘The All-New Mickey Mouse Club.’ She was catapulted to stardom in 1999 for her hit ‘Baby One More Time’ and went on to release so many more hits.
However, her mental health struggles led to a conservatorship in 2008 wherein her father Jamie Spears was put in charge of all her finances. Even with the controversy, Britney has still managed to amass quite a sizable fortune, which, as of 2019, is already at $59 million.
Expenses
So how does the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker spend her money? According to documents, the singer’s living expenses ballooned to $400,000 in 2018 – an amount that included the $66,000 spent on household supplies during trips to Target, Walmart, Home Depot, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Then, Britney had to shell out $70,000 on traveling, which included her four-night stay at Montage Beverly Hills for $16,000. She also bought her mom presents, which amounted to a staggering $173, 952.

The Grammy winner also pays $20,000 per month to ex-husband KevinFederline for child support. Then, her expenses included the annual cost of $30,000 for keeping her two dogs, which she bought for thousands of dollars as well.
Conservatorship Issue
The conservatorship started in October 2008 after Britney was placed under a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold and the court decided to put her father Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet as the ones responsible for her moves, decisions, and finances. Last year, the lawyer resigned from his post while the patriarch temporarily stepped back from his duties in September.

As such, Britney was left under the supervision of her care manager, Jodi Montgomery. The star’s lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham III, revealed that his client doesn’t want Jamie to go back as her conservator.
Instead, the Princess of Pop wanted Jodi to be her conservator permanently, but the court denied her request.
#FreeBritney Movement
With the rumors spreading that Britney was being held against her will, fans started the #FreeBritney movement. While the singer reiterated that she was fine and that what her supporters are doing is making it hard for her family, some people think that she is not telling the truth.

In fact, her fans have been decoding her posts, which they believe are filled with Easter eggs. Basically, they think that Britney is asking for help but she is doing so cleverly and with utmost care.
One fan even commented on Britney’s social media post that she should wear yellow in her next photo if she really needs help and, lo and behold, she did don a chic yellow blouse, leaving her supporters convinced that she needs saving.
