About The Photos
Prince Philip had his 99th Birthday in June 2020
For the joyous occasion, Buckingham Palace released a new and unseen picture of The Queen and the Duke. The Royal Family’s official Instagram account also shared a string of snaps that depicted the couple’s story throughout the years.
The images that were shared dated back to the days, where Prince Philips served in the military as a naval officer. Other senior royal officials such as the Earl and Countess of Wessex also made appearances in the photos.
The post was shared with the message of wishing the Duke of Edinburgh a very happy birthday. It also detailed the fact that His Royal Highness turned 99 and how he will spend the day with The Queen at Windsor Castle.
The longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, usually spends her time at Buckingham Palace, fulfilling her royal duties, away from the Prince, who stays at Sandringham Estate, spending his retirement in peace.
While the Duke of Edinburgh might not have thought of living such a long life, he is healthy and happy, going strong to touch 100. The couple already has plans to celebrate the future occasion with The Queen wanting to send a telegram to commemorate how things were in their time. The Royal Couple maintains a poised and dignified persona when they are in public. It is heart-warming to see the hints of love and affection that tell the real story of a classic romance!
